O Diplomata, in Porto, is the ideal place for lovers of pancakes. Your expectations may well be high as they will not disappoint you. They are made on time, by very experienced hands for sure. Served at the ideal temperature and very, very tasty. They can be ordered at any time, you can choose two or four, and you can make your own pancake. From choosing the dough, toppings, fruits and even ice cream, in addition to the combinations already on the menu.
You can also enjoy the pancakes if you choose a brunch (there are four options and cost between € 6 to € 10) until 16h.
If you are visiting just for lunch, you can count on a lunch menu that always costs € 4 and includes soup, toast or salad of the day and a drink. But there are more options! You can choose toast on a special Portuguese bread or even an eggplant salad.
O Diplomata is an historic Invicta café, where some well-known writers met for social gatherings in the 60s and 70s. At present time, lines from the poems of the poets who frequented the place are part of the decoration of the space, as well as an ancient telephone and printed newspapers.
The space is not too big, so get ready for some waiting time in the queue. When you have your table, and if you have doubts on where to start, how about a glass of açai with fruit, granola and honey?
