His ideas matter more than the clothes, and the cosmetics probably represent more of the Chanel sales than the bags, but that is just a question of numbers. And Karl is not very preoccupied with numbers. He presents only for Chanel 6 collections a year, with different sets and different locations in the case of the Cruise and Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall collections and also the Haute Couture range. It’s a lot, especially in an instant digital era. I wonder if the next cruise set to happen in Paris, the favorite city in world, will literally be a cruise boat along the Seine river…would be a blast, everybody on board.
That’s the magic of his work, he inspires every single creature in the world, and now he is also interested in expanding his audience to the interstellar worlds, soon to be discover, with a Chanel price tag. His rhythm of work is overwhelming to say the least, flows from on set to the other, with only now as the reference time, a memento that he always tries to keep on his mind. Now it’s the only time that matters.
